Schedule the exam online through eAccessNY. It is multiple choice, based on the 77-hour curriculum, with 1.5 hours to complete. Passing results are valid for two years.

Be sponsored by a New York State licensed real estate broker. A salesperson works under a broker's direction and cannot operate independently.
